Carver Middle School is excited to announce a partnership with Spartanburg Regional Health System. Students can now ask basic heath care questions through this system. Nurse Carol Foil heads up this new program for our school. Students wishing to access the telehealth network must have the following documents on file.
School Supply list 2019-2020
School supply bundles can be purchaed for $15 at registration. Of course, you may also purchase the items on your own.
Certain electives also require additional supplies.
Students should come prepared to school with supplies EVERY DAY ready to learn. The 3-ring binder is an essential part of our AVID method of organization and necessary for student success at Carver.
Register Your Student
Current students and rising 6th graders should use your INFOSNAP information in order to enroll your student for the 2019-2020 school year. If you do not have your SNAP code, you may come to the school to get a copy.
Students who will be new to District 7 in 2018-2019, will need to be registered at Carver beginning the last week of July. Parents may come by school anytime Monday-Thursday-8-4 pm to register your student.
Needed for registration:
- Student's birth certificate
- Student's proof of immunization
- Proof of residency (tax bill or lease agreement)
- Landline bill such as cable, water, or power bill
Summer reading is so important! The Carver Media Center has partnered with the Spartanburg County Library to offer great prizes this year. Students were given a card to fill out the hours they read. They can return it to any public library branch or to their Carver librarian for prizes.
Students may read anything they like but here is a list of some recommendations.
Proof of TDAP vaccination for rising 7th graders required
All students must show documentation confirming TDAP vaccines prior to entering 7th grade. You can schedule an appointment with the Health Department (864) 596-3337 or with your pediatrician. Records may be brought to the front office. For more information, contact Nurse Kaneathra Thompson at (864) 596-8434.
Do We Have Your Email?
In order to better communicate with parents and save paper at the same time, Carver's announcements are going paperless. We will use your email to send out monthly newsletters and important information that parents need to know. Your student will be bringing home a form to make sure we have your most current and frequently used email for our communications. Don't have an email? You can create one free!
It's time to reserve your yearbook for the 2018-2019 school year. Yearbooks are $20 and can be paid with cash or check made out to Carver Middle School. Remember, yearbooks must be pre-ordered before Spring Break. Only a very limited number will be available after that time.
Students at Carver received Macbooks Aug. 28. It was a busy day as classes were called down to get a computer. Then all students were given assistance with their logins. There are still many students who still need to make a $25 deposit inorder to receive their Macbook, and district officials are working hard to fix any problems that came up during the rollout. We ask for your patience as we complete the process of making sure every student in District 7 has a device to use for their school work. We ask parents' assistance in stressing to your child proper computer care and web etiquette. For strategies and tips regarding screen time and children, visit Common Sense Media.
