I love teaching music! I have been lucky enough to teach music for 22 years in Spartanburg School District 7. When I’m not at Drayton Mills, I teach percussion at Converse College and perform with the Spartanburg Philharmonic.

I grew up in Georgia, just north of Atlanta, and went to college at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta. After teaching for a few years, I earned a master’s degree from University of Southern Mississippi. I also worked super hard to become a National Board Certified teacher in 2010 and renewed my certification in 2019.

 I am lucky to be married to Mr. Matt McDaniel, the Drayton Mills Band Director. We have 2 boys, Killian and Finnigan.
