    South Carolina Standards:

Are you interested in what your child will be required to learn at each grade level, but don't know where to look?  Below you will find a link to the South Carolina Friendly Standards for parents.  This link is intended to help parents understand the expectations for students at each grade level on their path to College and Career Readiness.  At Pine Street we understand this is a valuable piece of information to have, but that there might be additional questions.  Remember, our door is always open, and we understand the value in building relationships through communication.

Mrs. Tyann Anderson has been voted PSS Support Staff Member of the Year!

Mrs. Tyann has the heart of Pine Street Elementary School in her hands each day.  She is SO MUCH MORE than just our wonderful, awesome, hard-working Head Custodian! She is one of the first people to lend a helping hand whether she is helping a child or parent find something lost, cleaning and making our school shine even more than it does, or just being a friend to all. Tyann is so wonderful and deserving of this award, let us all congratulate her in this outstanding recognition of her hardwork!

PSS Teacher of the Year is Mrs. Tiffany Anderson!

This announcement usually comes with balloons and a classroom visit, but due to the circumstances revealing our winner is a little different this year. Pine Street School is proud to announce our 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year...Mrs. Tiffany Anderson.  Mrs. Anderson currently teaches 2nd grade here at Pine Street and is very well known for her “doughnut” themed classroom.  Each year a teacher is recognized by their colleagues throughout our building and in Spartanburg District Seven as an expert in their ability to teach as well as to lead others.  Mrs. Anderson has been teaching in Spartanburg District Seven for 25 years, and has also worked at Mary H. Wright in addition to teaching here at Pine Street. Over these 25 years she has had the opportunity as a master

Aside from her “Doughnut” themed classroom she is well known amongst her peers for being a go-getter, always willing to learn new things, and being a relationship builder. When first entering the classroom it is instantly obvious she is not a traditional teacher! Mrs. Anderson realizes she is in charge of not only educating young minds, but also building experiences for students. She is always the first to participate in every dress-up day, every fundraiser, and every school competition all for the benefit of her students. Every student that enters the classroom is met where they are in their learning and she grows them from that point; her passion is to build a love for learning. Mrs Anderson is a shining inspiration to other educators around our district and throughout our community!

Parents describe Mrs. Anderson as going over and beyond in everything she does with her students. She highly values the education and learning every child receives every day. There is nothing she does not do to ensure each student receives what they need to learn, in the way that best works for them. From arriving early to staying late, she goes the extra mile! Her guidance and relationship building skills guide families in so many ways to make sure each child is successful and ready for the next level.

We are blessed to have Mrs. Anderson as a part of our family here at Pine Street and know she will represent us well in the year(s) to come.  Congratulations Mrs. Tiffany Anderson, you deserve this honor!
