Welcome to the District 7 website. If you’re new to Spartanburg and looking for information about our schools, we hope this will be your go-to resource. Our District and school websites reflect the dynamic spirit of our District and the many initiatives that support our efforts to inspire and equip our students for meaningful lives of leadership and service.

My name is Jeff Stevens and I am honored to serve in the role of Superintendent for Spartanburg School District Seven. In my second year as superintendent, I vow to continue to work hand-in-hand with our student, parents, staff and community renewing the strength to the spirit of tradition, excellence, and innovation that has long been a hallmark of this district.

I am a proud product of District Seven, having graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1985. I went on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees from Western Carolina University, Furman University and Converse College. I worked in lockstep with former Superintendent Russell Booker during my role as Chief Operations Office for District 7 and prior to that as principal of Spartanburg High School. Our shared vision for our district and for Spartanburg will continue to play a major role in my leadership as superintendent.

This year, District 7 is unleashing the Power of One, our theme for 2021-2022. The Power of One celebrates the difference one person can make and sets the tone for the year ahead. Each of us is reaching within to find our power, and we are joining together to show the world the power of one teacher, of one school, of one school district, and of one District 7 family. When we all work together with a laser focus on our mission to inspire and equip – driven by the belief that everything we need to positively impact students is within each one of us – District 7 is truly unstoppable.

In District 7, we value equity and we must lead by modeling that value for our community. We teach our students that their voices matter and now is the time for all of our voices to be heard – in support of justice, peace and equity for all. I will do everything within my power to uphold our core values as we work together to inspire and equip our students for lives of meaningful leadership and service as world citizens.

In response to the pandemic, I can assure you my team and the entire D7 family is working diligently, alongside health professionals, our teachers and staff members, and the communities and neighborhoods we serve. I believe in the vital importance of schools and community organizations working together for the betterment of our children.

I hope you will embrace the Power of One with me, make it your own, and help our students form a connection with it so that it inspires all we do. Children don't care about how much you know, until they know how much you care. We truly do in D7.

Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter where we'll keep you posted on the markers and milestones taking place in our District.
