Welcome to Fifth Grade Math & Science! In science class students explore a number of topics, from matter, to ecosystems, to the position of Earth in the universe. More importantly, while exploring these topics, students are challenged to think critically, apply scientific and engineering principles, and engage in scientific argumentation. In math we will expand our knowledge of mathematical operations to include multiplication and division of decimals and fractions. It will be a challenging, yet fun year!

Mr. Clay Erps
Mr. Erps has been teaching for 14 years. Before that he worked 12 years as a project manager for IBM and 15 years with Denny's Restaurants in various capacities. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, a Masters of Management Information Systems and a Masters of Teaching - Elementary Education. He is married with three grown children: Jennifer who is an attorney, Nathan who is a Band Director, and Matthew who is on the basketball coaching staff at Winthrop University.
