  • Positive COVID-19 Cases
    • Positive cases will continue with a 5-day isolation, permitted to return on day 6 with met criteria and masking though day 10.
    • If an individual cannot mask through day 10, then they will isolate for the 10-day duration.
    • Contact tracing and quarantining of close/household contacts remains suspended at this time. Those who would have been considered contacts in times prior, do not have to quarantine or be excluded.

    • Symptomatic individuals will be sent, or remain, home and encouraged to test for COVID-19.
    • If a negative test is obtained, or physician clearance documentation is provided, they may return once symptom improvement has been met.
    • If symptomatic individuals choose not to test, they will be excluded for the 5-day isolation period, permitted to return on day 6 with met criteria and masking through day 10.
      • If an individual cannot mask through day 10, then they will isolate for the 10-day duration.
    Monitoring for Outbreak
    • An outbreak is identified when 20% or more of the individuals within a shared setting (classroom, shared childcare room, sports team, or other group) have tested positive for COVID-19, or are absent/ sent home within 72 hours of each other.
      • In this event, the regional DHEC office is notified and provides next guidance.
