COVID-19 vaccine roll-out plans are continuing to move forward in the state of South Carolina The Department of Education announced some good news for for all SC residents over 16 years of age. They will begin the rollout of Phase 2 on March 31.
Gov. Henry McMaster and DHEC has announced all South Carolinians aged 16 and older will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine beginning March 31, 2021 and can begin scheduling their appointments on Wednesday. NOTE: Currently, Pfizer is the only vaccine available to those aged 16 and 17. All three vaccines—Pfizer, Moderna and Janssen—are available to those aged 18 and older.Phase 2 includes:
- All South Carolinians aged 16 and up
- Individuals eligible to receive vaccine can schedule an appointment using this online resource, which currently includes several major hospitals, seven DHEC sites, a DHEC mobile clinic, and 12 Doctor’s Cares locations. An additional 50 locations will be added to this list and available to provide vaccine by the beginning of next week.
- Individuals can also call the DHEC Care Line at 1-855-472-3432 for assistance with scheduling an appointment.
