Ms. Deborah Hughes

Hello! My name is Deborah Hughes, and I teach High School English Language Arts (9-12).  This is my 25th year teaching ELA, and I am more inspired than ever to provide fresh, relevant reading and writing learning opportunities for my students.  I believe in creating a culture of literacy in my classroom as well as schoolwide. I enjoy the challenge of motivating students of all levels and meeting them where they are with high-quality and engaging content.  I love to read!  I want all of my students to find what they love to read as well.  I am constantly updating my classroom library and looking for ways to provide our students with lots of reading options.  Most importantly, I believe in teaching our kids that they are capable of being successful in life.  In my classroom, I want students to feel safe, challenged, and loved.
