Ms. Michele S. Mangum

My name is Michele Mangum and I am so excited to be your child's Social Studies teacher at Whitlock Flexible Learning Center!  I have been in the field of education as a teacher and administrator for 20 years and absolutely love what I do.  My husband and I are parents of two children who are attending The Ciitadel and West Virginia University.  I am a native Virginian and have lived and taught in Florida and Georgia before my husband's job finally moved us to Boiling Springs, South Carolina.  We have lived in Spartanburg County for the last thirteen years and absolutely love it!

I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from The University of Alabama and can be found on Saturdays watching the Crimson Tide playing football--usually on TV, but I prefer Tuscaloosa!  We have a small farm and I am very outdoorsy and spend a lot of time outside with my farm animals, dogs and wildlife.  Fishing is a favorite pastime.  Again, I look forward to working with you and your child and consider it a true blessing.

Please feel free to contact me anyime at all!  Michele Mangum

  • What does my student have to do on remote learning days?

    Posted by:

Beginning September 21, when students are home on remote learning days, they will be required to follow their schedules and attend class via Google Teams and participate until released by the teacher.  Attendance will be taken by the period and students will be counted as unexcused if they do not.  Also, any required work due during the class period must be fulfilled and submitted electronically and, if not, it will result in a 0%.

  • What if my student is having problems with technology and it is not working at home?

    Posted by:

Students may email me at:  mmangum@spart7.info or mmangum@spart7.org.  Communication must happen before class so that I may trouble shoot and solve the problem if possible.  If it can not be resolved, they will be counted as present and avoid a 0%.
