Welcome!
I am thrilled to be back at E.P. Todd for the fourth year to serve the community that educated me as a student! It is wonderful to be back "home."
After leaving Todd, I continued my education at Carver Jr. High (now Carver Middle School) and Spartanburg High School. I have earned a BA in English from Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC (Go Blue Hose!), a MS in Communication Disorders from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC, and a EdD in Professional Leadership from Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
For the 2022-2023 school year, I will be serving students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade here at E.P. Todd. My job as a Speech-Language Pathologist is to support students who have Speech/Language Impairments or Communication Impairments. I provide teachers with information, screen students that parents or teachers are concerned about, evaluate, and implement therapy for those who require Speech/Language Services. Many students need extra support with their communication skills, especially when it begins to impact how they are doing in class.
If you are interested in learning more about your student's speech/ language development, these resources can be really helpful:
-Developmental norms (McLeod, S. & Crowe, K. (2018)) for speech sound development https://www.expressionsspeech.com/new-artic-norms-milestone-guide
-American Speech-Language Hearing Association https://www.asha.org/slp/schools/prof-consult/norms/
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any concerns you may have.
