Welcome to Special Services
Spartanburg School District Seven provides a full range of special services and supports for students with disabilities in accordance with state and federal regulations, specifically IDEA and Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act. These services include screenings, evaluations, remediation, accommodations and modifications, and related services such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, physical therapy, autism support, social work, and counseling. We have various special education classes throughout the school district and resource classes at all schools. At the high school we also have transition coaching available. Students who need self-contained classes are bused to other schools within District Seven if the specific class they need is not available at their home school. In addition, the district oversees the operation of the countywide special day schools for students with very severe disabilities who require very intensive services and supports.
