We are in the middle of flu season. The symptoms include fever, sore throat, cough, headache, body aches, and weakness. Your child may have any or all of these. Unlike a cold, flu comes on quickly-they may appear healthy in the morning and be very ill by afternoon. Please do not send your child to school if they have a fever or you suspect flu based on these other symptoms. Students with suspected flu should be seen by a doctor within the first 48 hours of the onset of symptoms. The doctor will verify if it is flu and may prescribe a medication that will reduce the severity and length of symptoms. If your child IS diagnosed with flu, please call either the school nurse or the attendance office. Your child will need a note from doctor indicating when he/she may return. Thank you.
