All students who participated in the Summer Reading Program were rewarded Aug. 30. Students were given prizes through the public library program as well as through their school librarian. Students had to read at least five books over the summer and return their cards. Students received satchels and fine forgiveness cards from the public library. They had a choice of a keypad cover or earbuds from Mrs. Roper.
Summer reading is important to avoid "summer slide," where students lose skills over the summer if not practiced. We hope self selected reading becomes part of every Carver student's life.
