Thirteen Carver Students Headed to College

Thirteen Carver Students Headed to College

Yes, you read that right. Thirteen students from Carver will be enrolled in early college programs this coming fall. The programs will allow students to graduate high school with an associate's degree.

Students went through rigorous screening, including a college entrance exam and interviews, to be chosen. The dual degree will save them thousands on their higher education and help them reach their career goals more quickly.

Six young men will enter Viking Early College. They are, from left, Moises Birruete, Alan Sanchez, Perrin Sullivan, Michael Harris-Moss, Terrance Young and Fabian Angulo-Ramirez (not pictured).

Six young ladies will attend the South Carolina Early College High School. From Mrs. Thompson's right, they are Aniyah Wright, Serenity Miller, Yadira Resendiz-Garnica, Yesenia Resendiz-Garnica, Delancey Lee and Adriana Chalk (not pictured.)

Ashleigh Faulkner, pictured separately, will attend USC Upstate's Scholar's Academy. The University does not offer an associates degree, but Faulker will be two-years into her four-year degree when she graduates high school.

We congratulate these wildcats and look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future.
