📣Calling all athletes📣. Preparing for next year's athletic season starts in the spring! You must have a current sports physical to be able to participate in summer and 25-26 athletic programs in Spartanburg School District 7. Save the date for April 22 to have your child's physical taken care of during the school day at Carver.

Our 8th Grade Career Exploration Class recently experienced interviewing for a job. They first chose what profession they wanted to interview for. Then they prepared with their teachers, Mrs. Beasley and Ms. Miller, for the interview day by creating a resume and writing their answers to interview questions. Finally, they actually participated in their interview with professionals from inside our building and from the community. They were scored based on their resume, their presentation in the interview, how they sold their skills, and how they closed the interview out.
Thank you to Dr. Arleen Newett, Mrs. Karen Dawkins, and Ms. Tiffany Beasley for being our community professionals who joined us in interviewing our students.

We recently had a great time hosting 5th grade students from Mary H. Wright, E.P. Todd School, Cleveland Academy, and Meeting Street! Those students saw a performance from our cheerleaders, took a tour, and heard from our awesome Student Council Leaders. To the parents of those students, we look forward to hosting you all tonight at 6pm. Bring all our questions and let's make their transition as smooth as possible.

Civic Engagement starts now! Our Leos Club which is a junior division of the Lions Club are active participants in District 32S Convention this weekend. As with all Lions Club work, their weekend includes serving their community! Great job to our Leos and their faculty sponsor Dr. Betsill!

Today our student council visited the State Capitol Building. These students and their faculty sponsor, Dr. Waddell, have been excellent leaders this year. From offering suggestions to administration to leading and speaking to 5th graders visiting Carver, they have worked to make Carver better. Today they saw where many important decisions in our state are made and even advocated for their top priorities:
1. Cell phones in school
2. Why do we need AI Robots?
3. Can you feed us lunch?
😂😂😂
Future leaders!

As we knock on the door of Spring, our garden club is preparing to see some bring some great color and blooms to our courtyard. They continue to do great work in that space! Thank you Mrs. Knafelc for leading the way with this group.

🎵 🎻🪘🎷🎹 March is Music in Our Schools Month! 🎵 🎻🪘🎷🎹
For 40 years, March has been officially designated by the National Association for Music Education for the observance of Music In Our Schools Month. It is a time of year when schools and communities across the nation raise awareness about the importance of music education for all children, celebrate our music teachers and programs within the community, and demonstrate the value school music brings to students of all ages.
In District 7, many of our annual school musicals take place during March and April. We invite our Spartanburg community to come enjoy these productions! The centerpiece of our musicals lineup is Spartanburg High School's production of Shrek The Musical, which takes place in our District 7 Fine Arts Center on April 24-27, 2025 and features students from our elementary, middle and high schools. Tickets are now on sale at https://our.show/D7Shrek! We also encourage you to explore the many other concerts and special music events presented by our schools.
D7 students have an extra spring in their step as their dedication and hard work culminates in these opportunities to showcase the beautiful music they create! Together, they lift their voices and make their instruments soar - Going for Great in one symphony of sights and sounds!

Spartanburg School District 7 Closure Announcement – Wednesday, March 5, 2025
Due to the strong wind advisory in effect from 4 AM to 7 PM by the National Weather Service, Spartanburg District 7 schools will be closed on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Forecasts indicate sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. In accordance with state safety regulations, school bus operations must be suspended when gusts exceed 45 mph, making travel unsafe for our students and staff.
Unlike other weather-related closures earlier this year, this will not be an eLearning day, as we have exhausted our allotted eLearning days for the year.
The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we navigate this weather-related closure. Please take all necessary precautions, stay safe, and look out for one another. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Thursday.
Mary H. Wright, E.P. Todd, and Cleveland 5th grade parents . . We look forward to having you join us Wednesday evening as we discuss your child's transition to middle school. Park in the rear of Carver and join us in the gym. Bring all your questions!
