2026 Advanced Placement exam scores are hot off the press and we are proud to announce our D7 students EXCEEDED expectations!

Last school year, 296 Spartanburg High School students took AP courses, representing the largest number of students participating in our AP program within the last five years. This group of stellar students also boasts the highest exam pass rate within the last five years, at 88%. They exceeded our state’s AP exam pass rate in 17 of the 23 AP courses offered at SHS and exceeded the national pass rate in 18 of those courses. Additionally, they represent the greatest number of students earning the status of AP Scholar with Honor or AP Scholar with and Distinction within last five years. What incredible accomplishment!

This success is even more meaningful given Spartanburg High School’s transition to the new blended schedule model for 2025-2026. This innovative, “best of both worlds” format combines year-long courses in areas such as AP and the performing arts (providing maximum benefit to those students and programs) with semester-long block courses (which expands opportunities for dual enrollment courses). In fact, last year – while maintaining its offering of 23 AP courses – SHS added on-campus dual enrollment courses in six new subject areas, bringing its total to 12 dual enrollment courses. This resulted in 525 students taking on-campus dual enrollment courses – an increase of 400%. The blended schedule also increased access to Daniel Morgan Technology Center, resulting in 200 additional students taking dual enrollment courses there for a total of 697. It enables SHS students to earn up to eight course credits during the regular school year, as compared to seven previously, which expands their opportunity for academic exploration and to progress toward on-time graduation.
