As families prepare for the upcoming school year, now is the perfect time to review your child’s immunization records and ensure they are up to date. The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) is offering free back-to-school vaccination clinics for rising 5K through 12th grade students in Spartanburg County.

Families may choose to attend one of the scheduled public clinics or contact their child’s pediatrician to schedule an appointment for required vaccinations.

🔔 Important Reminder:

South Carolina requires certain vaccinations before students can attend school. Below are the updated immunization requirements for the 2025–2026 school year:

💉 Required Vaccines by Grade Level:

  • 5th Grade: Two (2) doses of Hepatitis A vaccine (both on or after the 1st birthday and at least 6 months apart)

  • 7th–12th Grades: One (1) dose of Tdap (on or after the 10th birthday)

  • 11th Grade: Two (2) doses of Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine unless the student has a documented history of the disease
