There are moments in a school community that quite literally become part of its foundation.
Today at Jesse Boyd Elementary, students, staff, and district leaders gathered for a simple but meaningful milestone as they signed a structural beam that will become part of the new school. With markers in hand and excitement in the air, each signature represented pride, hope, and a shared investment in the future of Jesse Boyd.
There was no formal program, just a steady stream of students adding their names, laughter echoing across campus, and smiles that said it all. On the first day of spring, it was a fitting reminder that growth is happening all around us.
For these students, this moment was more than just signing a beam. It was the chance to leave their mark on a place they will one day walk through, learn in, and call their own.
The new Jesse Boyd Elementary, set to open in August 2027, is part of the voter approved 2024 referendum and will feature modern learning spaces designed for future ready students.
